Have you tried any restaurant deals from Groupon, Scoopon, OurDeals, Ouffer etc. you name it? Tonight we went to Jujuba at Fortitude Valley and it was really amazing! Since the reservation phone call with the nice lady I had very good impressions that they would offer great service! When we arrived it was much quiet than what we expected on a Friday night, but I guess it’s location is not really ideal for a fusion Asian restaurant? But the Ribs and Rumps next door and all the restaurants opposite of the road at Emporium were fully of people? So strange!? As we were using a Scoopon voucher we were given a special menu and there were heaps of choices from entree to main course, and this deal even included a drink of your own choice! What a great way to celebrate Friday night :)
The eight of us selected steamed veggie dumpling, steamed prawn dumpling, steamed BBQ pork bun, satay chicken skewers, chicken curry puff and fish cakes. And everything (I do mean everything) tasted very delicioux!!! It was a little bit out of surprise because first it’s a Scoopon deal :P second it’s from a “very quiet” restaurant! For most Asian restaurants the dishes would come out each by each but Jujuba left everything under the heated lamp until all our dishes were cooked so we could eat together, it’s kind of a first time to me in an Asian restaurant too :)
After we enjoyed the yummy entree and some of us had a bit of alcohol we were really looking forward to the main dishes. The seafood laksa looked fabulous and Mr M said it was hot and spicy and huge! And of course it had loads of seafood!!!
Mr F had the red curry beef with roti canai, yum! I had a taste of the red curry and it was really authentic Thai style!
My Char Kway Teoy was not too bad but I didn’t have chance to taste it while it was still hot (why? because I was busy feeding Little Monster with his beloved avocado dinner while I missed out my dinner :P). One thing was a little bit annoyed is when I asked for a container to take away they said since we used the Scoopon deal we could not take the meal away so I had to tuck as much as possible into Little Monster’s food container :(
Ms R’s vegetarian dish satay tofu with noodles looked pretty tempting too :P
Mr N’s duck salad had loads of fresh vegies! We really enjoyed tonight’s dinner with such a great deal!
